TLC provides “a place to catch your breath” for lung transplant recipients for the required stay of three months post-transplant.
You will help support the families living in our condos near the Fitzsimons Medical Center. BP Phillips passed away in May, 2005, waiting for a new lung. His son, Bill, Founder of EAS and author of Eating for Life, donated the first initial gift for this purpose.

TLC “BUCK OF THE MONTH” CLUB
TLC is committed to improving the quality of life for all recipients both pre- and post-transplant, by providing housing and other support services for recipients and their caregivers.
There are 14 million people in the USA with lung diseases. Since 1989, about 14,000 lungs have been transplanted. More than 370 of those were performed at the University of Colorado Hospital. Around half of the current listees at UCH are from outside the Denver Metro area.
If potential recipients can’t arrange housing through family, friends or their insurance companies, for three months after transplant, they might not be able to get on the list. With your help, we can provide “a place to catch your breath” for all recipients including those who might otherwise be left behind. TLC is in the process of acquiring a 6th condo near the Fitzsimons Medical Center in Aurora. It will be called “BP’s House” in honor of Bill Phillips, Sr. who passed away in May, 2005, waiting for a new lung. His son, Bill Phillips, founder of EAS and author of Eating for Life, contributed the initial gift for this project.
Times are difficult financially for many of us these days; TLC has searched for a way to allow everyone to make a significant contribution without a negative impact on their budgets.
We’re asking you to act as a team captain with your family, friends, co-workers or customers to ask each to contribute $1 each month. TLC provides, for your convenience, 12 postage paid envelopes to be mailed to TLC on the 9th of every month. Often, companies will match funds from employees. Check it out!
As a TLC Member, you and your company will be listed on our website and promotional literature. You will receive a monthly newsletter via E-mail to keep you informed of TLC’s work. You will hear about the lives being saved and the joy of that first real breath after transplant! And you will hear stories about recipients meeting their donor families. You’ll know that you helped make this happen.
Most importantly, you can reach many people who simply have not thought about being an organ donor. Colorado is already a leader in organ donation, but there are nearly 4,000 people waiting for a lung in the United States. There are 92, 239 people waiting for all kinds of organs.
6000 will die waiting. We can change that!
